Annual Awards Banquet Posted Nov 10, 2008
Click here for photos Our annual awards banquet was held at the Deep Cove Yacht Club once again this year, on Nov 8th. We had a pot luck dinner, slide show and award presentations.

Thanks to Jakki Henderson for organizing the event, for Rob Elliott for MC'ing the entire evening, and for sponsors HO Sports and Liquid Force for donating auction prizes for the event. Thanks also to our members for their auction donations, and their generosity in bidding for the items.

Juniors Shine Once Again at Nationals Posted Sep 02, 2008
We had four junior members of our club attend Three Event Nationals Aug 13-17, one attend Wakeboard Nationals Aug 14-17, and three attend Barefoot Nationals Aug 22-24 this year. All deserve congratulations, and all saw the podium!

At Three Event Nationals in Newmarket, Ontario, Sarah Macdonald was 2nd in jump, 2nd in trick, and 2nd overall in Girls 3. In Junior Women, Melissa Long was 1st in trick, and 3rd overall. In Mens Under 21, Robbie Paterson was 3rd in jump. In Womens Under 21, Jessica Long was 3rd in slalom. See here for the official results.

At Wakeboard Nationals in Regina, Saskatchewan, Phaedra Harder was 2nd in Wakeskate. See here for the official results.

At the Barefoot Nationals in Les Cèdres, Quebec, Nicole Blackmore won the Women's Open division, while Richard Blackmore won Boys, and Becca Macdonald came 3rd in Girls tricks. See here for the official results.


Covert Wake Jam / BC Wakeboard Provincials Posted Aug 14, 2008
Click here for photos We held the second annual Covert Wake Jam and BC Wakeboard Provincials August 8-10. There were about 65 competitors, with their friends and family. The riders all had good music, great food, flat water (in spite of some rain), and and overall great time. See the results. Thanks to our sponsors and volunteers for giving generously.

Click here for photos Our Kids Camps went extremely well this year. Despite the rain on Day 2 of our second Kids Camp, all went well.

Click here for photos We had a huge turnout for this year's Kiwanis Club Ski Day, with over 40 attendees. The sky was overcast but it was warm and calm, making for perfect water conditions. Thanks to Kiwanis for organizing all of the partipants on their end, and to all of our volunteers. Special thanks to Jakki Henderson for both organized and volunteered at the event.

As per previous years Ian Wilson did a fantastic job helping the kids get up and this year his son Chris helped as well......thank you Chris! Thanks to Joel Perkins for helping with transport and set up for the gear, as well thanks to Harold Westerman and Robert Duncan for helping out. A very big thank you goes out to newer members Geoff Bosley and Rick Smith who did a lot of running!

Our annual awards banquet was held at the Rob Millham and Catherine Phillips' house this year, on Nov 25th. We had a pot luck dinner, and Rob treated us to a special fireworks demo.
