Our new wakeboard tournament - the Covert Wake Jam - was huge, with 51 competitors, and over 200 attendees in total. With the help of our sponsors and volunteers it ran very smoothly. There were cash prizes (including the Coors Double Up contest for $500), lots of product prizes, a BoardRoom skate ramp, big auction items, a Coors Light beer garden, a Saturday dinner buffet. The weather held out nicely with cloudy/sunny skies and very little wind, which is unusual for this time of year.

Thanks to our club members: Joel Perkins, the Kitsilano Harder Family, Ric Corewyn, Amber Harder, Rob Millham, Danny Elliott, Rob Wainman, Robert Duncan, Brad Acaster, Andrew Young and Beth, Brent Johnson, Lorne and David Staley, the Harman Family, Barry McKnight, Chris Paterson.

We had great support from our sponsors, but at least as important was the support we received from visiting participants. Special thanks to the Shanks Family, Tanya Chmilar, the Elander Family, the Comox Valley Harder Family, and the Champions who worked their tails off the entire event. Without them it would not have run nearly as smoothly. When you riders attend events on the island or interior, please make a concerted effort to volunteer wherever you can. We owe them big time!
