Provincial Water Ski Update

Kent Jefferson  | Published on 8/31/2021

Thanks to everyone who came out and participated or cheered on the competitors  August 20th - 22nd in Abbotsford at the 2021 Waterski Provincials.  Once again we had a great showing from the VWSC:  from our youngest competitors in the Boys U10 category (Ben Leng and Noah Jefferson) all the way through to Doug Brain in the Mens 8 category (featured in the photo), for a total of 12 participants from our club!

It was a little bit cold and windy on Friday for the Trick and Jump competitions but everyone did well.  Saturday was a great day for Slalom and Money Jump!  We had 5 participants in the Money Jump:  Nathaniel Jefferson landed a 102 ft jump to put his team in 2nd place with each team member winning $200; Kaden Scott landed an impressive 114 ft jump (also a tournament PB) putting his team in 4th place along with Jacob Taylor and Johnny Hayward all earning $100, while Cole Webb (aka Patterson)’s team came in 5th place earning $50 each!  Such a fun way to learn to jump, have some fun and earn some spending money.

Check out Johnny’s Instagram: JohnnyofDeepCove for some AMAZING shots of the waterski action this weekend, Thanks Johnny for all the great shots!
